What is the purpose of the Friends of Pohick Library?

The Friends of Pohick Library supports the programs & activities of the Pohick Regional Library by providing financial resources to fund educational & recreational activities at the library. We sponsor programs of interest to the community that the library would not otherwise be able to offer.

Examples of our support include:

  • Equipment for the Pod (Pohick DIY), our Maker Space.

  • Funding library subscriptions to a variety of magazines for the public. 

  • Purchase of 3D printer to boost our support for Pohick’s active public 3D printing effort.   

  • Undergraduate, graduate, & staff development scholarships through the Fairfax Library Foundation. 

  • Funding for “Fall for the Book” & the Summer Reading Program

  • Staff Support

How can I help?

You can get involved by joining as a member (just $10/annually), volunteering, joining the board of directors or by making a contribution. Reach out and let us know what you would like to do.

How do I become a Member?

There are four levels of membership:

  • Individual membership is $10 per year.

  • Family memberships are $15 per year.

  • Student memberships for High School and College students are $2 per year.

  • Lifetime memberships are $50 per person and never expire.

Is Friends of Pohick Regional Library a Non-Profit 501C?

Yes, membership dues and contributions are tax deductible.
